Do you ever eat at any yatai carts, food trucks, or street food? What are your experiences with them?
Last time I did I got terribly sick. It was only a polish sausage and it wasn't some indian shit like you'd probably expect. It wasn't food poisoning because I've had that before and the symptoms didn't match, but I'll never eat a food truck/stand again.
It's been a while since I did. Here we mostly have pizza trucks and kebab joints. Our "pizza scene" is super competitive, so there's always a great place in a 20km radius. Oh yeah, sushi too, it was a trend for a while, but these places are always wildly overpriced and don't really fit the same niche. I've had varying experiences but I don't remember having been sick myself. Although a friend of mine got a nasty illness at a kebab place we used to patronize together once. He was sick like a dog for two weeks plus another week of recovery. I think he'd eaten a burger with an egg. Needless to say that we never went there again.
