Getting our first tastes of fall, post fall images everyday until winter.
Give me good image boards that aren't world2ch of course. I've been getting re addicted to imageboards but all the good ones have become fucking ass
>>2739I'll stop lurking and start posting more
Are there any tech chans that arent lainchan that are good?
>>2763No, they inevitably get infested with nu-/g/ users.
>>2763Ha! Lane Chan! I can't believe you would promote that place. Seems like a bunch of bullies to me. I wouldn't even bother. I was in the IRC and I got banned. And I asked why? They told me it was because I was cringe. Well, maybe I am. But don't I deserve to post on an image board?

Omarchy (by Omacom) is "We've made the decisions for you" Linux distro, heavily AI-assisted around proprietary software, designed to run proprietary AI coding agents (unusual security risk) having access to your full system, where they execute commands usually not stop for confirmation.>honeypot or legitimate project?>the funding and promotion are certainly unusual $18.5 million>Sam Altman (Co-founder and CEO of OpenAI), Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Meta), Tobi Lütke, Patrick Collison, Michael Dell, Jeff Friedman, Leonid Dubinsky, Stav Solomon, Aaron Reisman, Amir Harel, Benjamin Katz, Benjamin Wolf, Bruno Katzjarowski, David Dashefsky, Davis Goodman, Jacob Rosenthal, Nina Dubinsky, Roman Weisman, Salomon Mole, Yam Catzenelson etc.>heavy promotion & large scale SEO (similar how Brave has promoted w/ $30 million spent)>Meta, Cloudflare, Anthropic, OpenAI etc.>Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Google Antigravity, GitHub Copilot etc.>Spotify, 1Password, proprietary/web applications, Discord, WhatsApp, other commercial services>includes Basecamp & DHH owned 37signals & related software/services>1.5-2.0 GB RAM usage at idle + large default installation>passwordless sudo w/ disabled sudo password prompts>paid AI APIs, token-subscriptionsReported security issues:>accepts command injection through video titles, notifications, sudo helper>Lua injection through USB device names>privilege escalation/path injection>unsafe temporary-file handlinghttps://files.catbox.moe/m19ksh.png
is this a hot button issue for archfags? who gives a shit
If you need LLMs to help your rice your desktop, you are already ricing too much. Linux has become just another consumerist thing where you consume window managers and distributions, but since it's all free for now, you can do so until you die from wm/distro-hopping overdose. It all has to be some product to consume and to milk as much from it as possible. I cannot wait for libre software projects to want to "keep up" with mainstream software and add so-called "AI" functionality to libre software by default, probably to systemd or gnome or freedesktop whatever the fuck. Hopefully Linux dies in a fire and we can all come back to using some old Windows version, because those were less of a goldmine for big corpo.I looked it up and of course Omarchy is not GPL'ed.
>>2672Things like BSDs and actual UNIXes will probably be overlooked by what you're describing and will gain more traction amongst dedicated FOSS contributers, but then another 10 years will pass and the coolest techsperts will convince everyone to start using them with a 5 minute how to video as they'll be more user friendly.
>>2672Older versions of windows are incredibly high-risk security nightmares.Using an LLM is faster than typing, you should just treat it the same way you'd treat any FLOSS code with extremely low eyes-on-code: read the code, demand a small codebase and attack surface. There will always be some projects out there that don't slam AI into everything, thankfully, and if there ever wasn't, you could ironically just have an LLM strip the AI functionality out of something else and compile it yourself. It's not hard, especially if you're using a declarative distro like GuixSD or Nix.
>>2634I don't see the big issue with ricin. It's a customization. So what? I guess you got a problem with people who wear a keychain with a non-standard fog or a phone case with a bunch of minions on them from the movie? yeah no one's trying to say oh this makes me some kind of elite hacker but you're the one who's a big party pooper raining down on everybody's parade i think it looks really neato and people like you are a bunch of bullies
Some people (mainly textboard users) like to claim that imageboard users are of a low intelligence. This thread seeks to prove these baseless accusations false. Here are the rules: only one number per post, and whenever someone messes up, the count resets to 1Ready?1

Is there any No.2 pencil better than this?>graphite is almost always centered>eraser is firm yet erases smoothly>metal isnt flimsy or loose
There's different kinds of them and some are more luxury than others. I remember there were some off brand orange ones that had really hard erasers that would leave a massive mark on paper, very annoying.
Mines looked like this and idk what the purpose of the red butt was
