World2channel User Guide

There isn't really much to say.
World2ch is an anonymous BBS inspired by and originally created by 2channel.

Everytime you make a post in a thread, it will rise to the top of the board. This is called an age (あげ). If you type "sage" (さげ) in the E-Mail field for your post, the thread will not rise to the top of the board.
To display a tripcode, place a "#" after your name, and up to 8 characters to generate a code unique to that password. For example, "Nameless#example" will come out as "Nameless!KtW6XcghiY".
If you type fusianasan in the Name field, your IP address will be displayed in place of a name. This is useful if you want to be absolutely sure nobody else can impersonate you, unless they coincidentally live in your home.

Above all else, make sure your posts hold quality. Give witty replies, have insightful discussion, post something fun and interesting for all to read.

What's the deal with this site?

World2ch is an anonymous BBS inspired by and originally created by 2channel. If you are not familiar with 2channel and anonymous boards please read the guide to Anonymous Boards first.

What kind of topics can I post here?

Any kind of topics are welcome; anything goes! You can post anything you wish but in general users want posts to be something interesting or funny as one would expect; being witty is certainly a plus.

Who are all of these characters I see?

There are a large number of characters which 2channel users have created which are well known among the community (all text art is termed AA). Each character generally has a gag or gimmick that they use in various situations across the board. Also there are often threads dedicated to a single character saying different things in whatever style fits him/her. There is a list of common AA characters appearing on SAoVQ at the bottom of this guide as well as links to threads on other News4VIP based boards that have descriptions of AA characters and AA you can use in your posts.

I can't see any characters or I see a bunch of scrambled letters and symbols.

The problem being is that you either don't have MS PGothic, Monafont or a similar font for viewing AA Characters. These fonts are used for viewing AArt (ASCII Art) or more commonly known as Shift_JIS Art. Shift_JIS art is used commonly on text based boards, and without the right font to display them, they appear as mangled characters. (example of AA Characters can be seen here.)

In order to make sure that your browser is viewing Shift_JIS Art properly, you may have to do the following (if your browser does not automatically use Monafont/MS PGothic/etc. to view AArt):

(In Firefox, set it up in Tools -> Options -> General -> Fonts & Colors -> Advanced -> Fonts for Japanese. Also set up your encoding (under View) to auto-detect Japanese). Note that this variates between browsers and different versions of Firefox.

And to spare you the time of searching for them, here are the links to the fonts used to view AArt:
